The warm weather has made me really nostalgic for Baltimore summers so I decided to recreate a dish that is considered somewhat of a staple in Maryland - crab cakes! There are lots of vegan crab cake recipes out there but I was specifically looking for one that used artichokes since I already had a can on hand. I was lucky enough to find a full YouTube tutorial on how to make artichoke crabless cakes, from vegan travel host and filmmaker Will Edmond. Will’s recipes have gained a lot of attention on YouTube and Tik Tok, and his most recent recipe for vegan fried chicken using oyster mushrooms was even featured on Buzzfeed Tasty!
To make these vegan crab cakes, I followed Will’s recipe (which can be made gluten-free if you use GF breadcrumbs) and served them up with some vegan mayo and fresh dill. Check out his recipe video below!
